Job Summary
JS Morlu is a small CPA firm that provides accounting, audits, and business taxes that specialize in industries such as government contractors, 501(3) Charities & Foundations, Home-Health Care, and Common Interest Real Estate Associations. We are looking for a Director who can manage our accounting staff and provide excellent service for our clients from our office location in Woodbridge, VA. This position also holds the opportunity to move up in our company for new career opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of 5 years of related Public Accounting Experience
- Supervisory experience
- Proven experience in at least audits, taxes, or all accounting
- Expert level experience with QuickBooks (Desk/Online) or Sage 50 US Edition
- Advanced knowledge in Excel (Pivot tables, vlook ups, macros)
- Report writing and design
- Computer Skills, System Integrations, System Administration
- Board Level Finance presentation experience
- Drake Tax Software a plus
- DCAA/Government Contract accounting a plus

- Oversee full monthly close cycle and perform reconciliations leading to the production of complete financial statement packages.
- Assign client work to staff
- Review and approve work of accountants and consultants, ensuring completeness, accuracy and quality
- Review workloads assigned to Senior and Staff accountants to ensure maximum productivity and ensure each accountant’s skill set matches each of JS Morlu’s unique client needs.
- Review, update and implement monthly processes & procedures
- Set targets & monitor deliverables
- Coach, mentor and develop junior staff
- Implement and maintain a system of quality control over financial reporting for all client partners to ensure accurate, timely financials are provided consistently
- Identify and reengineer stale processes and implement best practices for all areas of Financial Services.
- Draft and Review Executive Summaries of monthly, quarterly and annual financial
- Analyze and present financial statements to Client Teams and CEO
- Perform technical research on both GAAP and tax as necessary and communicate impacts of changes in regulations to non-financial professionals and staff as appropriate
- Serves as main point of contact for clients
- Lead and participate in client meetings
- Provide solutions to client and accounting issues as they arise
- Provide Executive Management with visibility on client satisfaction with Financial Services

- Substitute for CEO in his absence
- Work with New Business and Corporate Marketing to provide fee estimates for prospective clients
